Return - Day 1 - BC to AB

Pulled out of Nelson Wednesday afternoon (1:30pm local time) with destination of Lethbridge, AB. Relatively easy drive. Except the first charger (Cranbrooke) we’d forgotten charging practice – you need – at least with the fast chargers – to plug in before activating the charger! But then once we did get it charging, it was delivering a lot less energy than it was supposed to (maybe 80 of 160 kW)…so we got just enough to get us to Fernie where we had a good charge at a Circle K (these are pretty reliable – this one we were getting more like 130kW). But the Fernie highlight was Himalayan Spice Bistro which was fantastic!! We did take out to keep moving but it was also a really cute space so would have been nice to eat in also. Arrived 10pm at the Lethbridge Wingate – they’d confirmed ahead their chargers were working – and, both were occupied by guests who confirmed they would need them all night. So no charge at the hotel…luckily a 5 min walk away was City Hall with available chargers so we left the car there overnight and it was charged to 90% by morning. The hotel comp’ed Alfie ($25 pet charge) in light of no charging onsite.
